GetUp! has launched a new advertisement in response to Prime Minister Kevin Rudd’s back-down on climate change.
We've cleared the remaining hurdles and uploaded the broadcast version to satellite ready for the TV networks to play - the ad will play tomorrow afternoon in Sydney and Melbourne, and Monday afternoon in the rest of the country!

Government announces emissions targets of just 5% by 2020.
The Rudd Government has announced a weak emissions target of just 5% by 2020 with an option to go to 15% only if pushed internationally.

On the 60th anniversary of the UN Declaration of Human Rights the Government has announced it will be consulting the Australia public on what human rights means to them. This is a once in a lifetime chance to call for a Human Rights Act to permanently protect human rights in Australia.

GetUp has spoken out against suggestions that the Government may have settled on an emissions reduction target range of five to 15 per cent on 2000 levels by 2020, a level which neither constitutes a genuine response or protects Australia's economic and environmental future.
If the Rudd Government fails to make a decision to tackle climate change they will be rejecting the mandate given to them by the Australian public and GetUp will not hesitate in launching a campaign on the issue.
